5 tablespoons of butter
4 large Russet potatoes sliced approx 1/8 inch thick
½ pound Jarlsberg grated cheese
Salt and Pepper to taste
¾ cup beef broth
In an oven proof baking pan melt and smear two tablespoons of butter over bottom of pan. Layer pan with 1/3 of potatoes, add salt and pepper and lightly cover with the cheese. Do two more rows on top of cheese following the salt and pepper and cheese format. Pout beef broth over potatoes and cover. Bake in 300 degree oven for 2 hours.
