Beckstoffer Vineyards share an enviable reputation among a tight-knit community of cult wine enthusiasts and collectors from around the globe. B Cellars enjoys a longstanding partnership with Beckstoffer and is among a select few vintners with access to all six of his Heritage Vineyards.

Over a period of 40 plus years, Andy Beckstoffer succeeded in acquiring six of Napa Valley’s most historically significant vineyards dating back to the 1800's. These namesake vineyards known as: Bourn, Dr. Crane, Georges Ill, Las Piedras, Missouri Hopper and To Kalon are respected on par with the first growth vineyards of France.

B Cellars produces seven wines from Beckstoffer Heritage Vineyards. Our  HERITAGE tasting experience presents a unique proposition for those who savor "one-of-a-kind" opportunities.

Limited availability of our Beckstoffer Heritage wines may make it difficult to offer this tasting experience at certain times. Please inquire with our Concierge about suggested tasting dates.

The Terroir

Curated by Co-Founder, Duffy Keys

B Cellars enjoys rich, long-term relationships with respected growers whose vineyards are considered in the top echelon among all Napa Valley and Sonoma sites. This diversity in terroir allows us to create a wide range of wines – each exhibiting unique qualities specific to their exact location.

Terroir is a term adopted from the French – there is no exact translation but it refers to the idea that each vineyard possesses an utterly unique combination of soils and meso-climate that are not reproducible at another vineyard. This terroir, in turn, is expressed in the grapes themselves and ultimately in the wines they produce.

Envisioned by Duffy, this experience is designed to showcase the nuance of terroir by presenting wines made from the same grape varietal but different wine growing regions in a side by side tasting. Guests gain a new understanding of the distinct flavors B Cellars celebrates in its multi-vineyard, multi-varietal, appellation driven winemaking practices.

THE TERROIR explores six wines and a barrel tasting paired with cheese and charcuterie.

$125 per person. Please allow 90 minutes for this experience. Please call to reserve this experience. (707) 709-8787

Led by our Master Winemaker Kirk Venge and Associate Winemaker Derek Taylor, B Cellars produces exceptional small production wines season after season by employing a multi-vineyard strategy. Kirk and Derek develop distinct flavors by blending wines from mutually complementary varietals. Working with exceptional growers in Napa and Sonoma, B Cellars creates a portfolio of wines that reflect the diversity of the area.

Beyond, and in the vineyards

Organic, sustainable farming practices are core to the health of B Cellars estate vineyards. This includes no use of chemical pesticides or fertilizers. Vinescape, our farming company has an impeccable reputation for precision grape growing. Our hand-crafted wine and food pairings are made from scratch using ingredients mostly grown on site from our stone fruit orchards, olive trees, culinary garden, and our hen house. Our chickens produce eggs for our homemade breads, crackers, pasta, and other internal cooking needs. Even herbs and edible flowers used in garnishing our pairings are grown on property. Our bee apiary also helps contribute to the health of our vineyards and strengthens the local bee community while giving us amazing honey to share with our guests.

In the Cellar

We strive for pure excellence. Whether uncovering vineyards of great pedigree to exploring new cooperage makers, to implementing methods that make the operation more sustainably sound and efficient. Improving wine quality is an unwavering mindset. While winemaking is grounded in science; listening as the wines speak, we lean to the artistic side of the spectrum trusting our intuition and experience to make crucial decisions involving the production process. Producing more than 15 handcrafted wines; each is purpose built, unique to itself and true to our excellence standard.

Seward Johnson

The work of John Seward Johnson II can be seen throughout the property. Mr. Johnson is an American artist known for his life-size trompe l'oeil painted bronze statues. Johnson initially became widely known for his sculptures depicting people engaged in everyday activities. Johnson’s desire to highlight the mundane in his Celebrating the Familiar sculpture series has brought a unique voice to the world of art in public spaces.
