B Society Connoisseur Allocation

2024 Winter/Spring

One of the many wonderful qualities of wine is the specificity of the vintage and the opportunity for reflection that comes with that first sip. At B Cellars, the annual release of wines, especially wine club allocations, serves as the perfect opportunity to reflect on the not so distant past. Looking back only a few years offers us the clarity that comes with relative recency but also the perspective that can only come from the passing of time. It’s no coincidence that these deep reflections are often done with a glass of wine in hand!

Each wine in the Winter/Spring 2024 allocation is from the 2021 vintage. At the time, 2021 had an underlying sense of uneasy anticipation and desperate optimism. Really, everyone was simply hoping for an uneventful harvest with no major surprises after the events of the previous year. Luckily, that is exactly what we got. Beautiful conditions, large yields, and gloriously boring days were the hallmarks of the harvest season, and our winemaking team was able to pour their heart and soul into the wines.

Even while we fondly remember vintages gone by, our focus remains on the future and the gleeful optimism of what is to come. We have big plans for 2024, and we can’t wait to share the journey with all of you throughout the year. We’ll be debuting new wines, additional tasting experiences, and sharing our story in new and exciting ways. We even rebuilt our culinary garden just in time to plant our summer crops!

We hope you enjoy this special collection of wines with friends and family, and raise a glass to years gone by and the adventures yet to come.

Recipes

Chorizo Con Papas Empanada

Try this recipe with the Calesa Vineyard Pinot Noir. The raisins in the filling enhance the fruit notes and accentuate the bright acidity of the Pinot Noir. Additionally, the coriander, chorizo, and smoked paprika bring out the earthy notes of the wine.

Pizza with Sundried Tomato Pesto

Zinfandel is an incredibly versatile wine for pairing. Specifically, the dry creek Zinfandel pairs well with the bold, slightly sweet flavors in the sun-dried tomato pesto while the tannins help to balance the saltiness and fat found in the cheese and prosciutto.

Kobe Beef Sliders with Fried Onions

Chef Derick Kuntz’s sliders are infamous and the most requested food item from guests at B Cellars. This versatile recipe works well with many of our red wines, especially our red blends and expansive portfolio of Cabernet Sauvignon.
