B Society Platinum Allocation

FALL 2023

It is no coincidence that the timing of the Fall B Society shipment coincides with harvest each year. The cooling temperatures that allow us to safely ship wine throughout the country also mark the end of another growing season in the vineyards. Harvest in the Napa alley is simply electric, and the energy is palpable everywhere you go.

Each year, we find ourselves asking what makes this vintage special and unique from prior years. Sometimes, the answer is obvious and stems from a major event that required a specific and memorable response from the vineyard or winery team – like the 2020 vintage. What makes an ordinary, uneventful vintage stand out from its predecessors? Amidst the chaotic energy, early mornings, late nights, and unexpected hurdles, it is all too easy to lose sight of the countless events that led us here over the past nine months. It is the culmination of small victories, some as a result of experience and expertise and others from sheer luck, good timing, and mother nature, that make each vintage unique. Like any noteworthy achievement, the small victories and the work that fuels those wins are just as important as the larger goal.

So as another harvest begins, let’s raise a glass and celebrate the small victories. After all, the more we remember to celebrate our successes, the more reasons we have to enjoy a glass of wine!

Recipes

Korean Barbecue

Chef Derrick is inspired by cuisine around the world. He recommends pairing these Korean barbecued short ribs with B Cellars’ newest blend, Segue. The short ribs help to bring out the earth and black fruit in this Bordeaux-style blend.

Prime Rib Dip

Chef Derick Kuntz’s sliders are the most requested food item from guests at B Cellars. He took it the extra mile by adding prime rib and a sumptuous au jus for dipping. It reminds him of holiday leftovers and pairs perfectly with almost every B Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon.

Bison Chili

Sous Chef Cameron is the king of chili here at B Cellars. He loves this recipe with both the Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon and the Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. Both of these high-elevation AVA Cabernets have great balance when it comes to acidity and tannin structure. The chili helps to accentuate both of these fantastic qualities and brings out more of the earth and herbaceousness in these wines.
