Blend 24 & Blend 25 is where it all started.

From the beginning, B Cellars wines were conceived to present a food-friendly personality. Hence, our foray in the business was to craft two proprietary blends bringing together multiple grape varietals from different appellations together in creative combinations – the result, wines with layers of flavors always welcome at the table. Since our inaugural vintage, winemaker Kirk Venge and B Cellars co-founder Jim Borsack have engaged in hundreds of blending sessions leading to the creation of an enviable portfolio of unique wines, including several proprietary blends. Today, we are pleased to share the current vintage of our two original blends – BLEND 24 and BLEND 25. Inspired by popular blends from other winegrowing regions in the world, they are true to their terroir, delivering consistently delicious wines, year after year. In particular, our BLEND 24 and BLEND 25 will always hold a special place in our hearts; the ones that started it all.

2018 Blend 24

Blend 24 finds its inspiration from the “Super-Tuscan” wines of Italy, where non-traditional grapes are blended with traditional varietals to produce new expressions of classic terroir. In our case, we blend the Napa Valley classic Cabernet Sauvignon with Sangiovese, a rare grape in our parts. A touch of Petite Sirah adds color, depth, and rich tannins.

Power and grace define this rich union of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Radiating a deep violet hue, initial aromas of brambleberry and black currants lead while subtle expressions of cigar box, espresso, and leather emerge on the finish. There is great density and balance on the palate, with a layered, lingering, and lengthy finish of velvety tannins.

B Cellars produces wines to be enjoyed with food and Chef de Cuisine Derick Kuntz is stellar when it comes to creating the perfect pairings. Letting the wine guide the culinary process, he creates fresh, unique, and elevated dishes that result in a harmonious wine and food experience. Wild Mushroom Arancini with Romesco Sauce

Chef Derick Kuntz created this recipe for B Cellars Blend 24. The bright acid in the romesco sauce compliments the Sangiovese while the earthiness of the mushrooms amplifies the Cabernet Sauvignon in this Super Tuscan Blend.
