Blended to perfection, since 2003

Blend 24 & Blend 25 is where it all started; Blend 26 & Blend 27 completed the vision.

From the beginning, B Cellars wines were conceived to present a food-friendly personality. Hence, our foray in the business was to craft proprietary blends bringing together multiple varietals from different appellations together in creative combinations – the result, wines with layers of flavors always welcome at the table.

Since our inaugural vintage, winemaker Kirk Venge and B Cellars co-founder Jim Borsack have engaged in hundreds of blending sessions leading to the creation of an enviable portfolio of unique wines, including several proprietary blends.

2021 Blend 24

Blend 24 finds its inspiration from the “Super-Tuscan” wines of Italy, where non-traditional grapes are blended together to produce new expressions of classic terroir. In our case, we blend Sangiovese, a rare grape in our parts, with the Napa Valley classic Cabernet Sauvignon.

The Blend 25 is influenced by a popular Australian blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah(known in Australia as Shiraz). This blend represents the best of both the valley floor and hillsides. It is as much a blend of terroirs as it is a blend of varietals. The end result is a powerful yet polished wine that will age gracefully in the cellar.

Hours upon hours of assemblage take place prior to determining the composition of this special wine. Carefully integrated, this is a bold and sumptuous“left bank” Bordeaux-style red blend.

The Blend 27 is an elegant yet bold “right bank” Bordeaux style red blend. This wine is a crowd-pleaser; the perfect choice to seduce any palate. While the blend changes from vintage to vintage, the generous, elegant spirit of the wine remains a constant.

Why the numbers?

The B Cellars logo is the scientific symbol for Brix, the measurement of sugar within a solution. Brix levels are collected in the vineyard before harvest as one of the indicators of ripeness. Typically white wine is picked between 21-23 Brix and red wine is picked between 24-28 Brix. Our blend names are a little nod to this Brix scale.
