At The Winery
February was a busy month at B Cellars. We hosted our first B Society Wine Club social of the year, saw a lot of rainfall, and even saw some legitimate snowfall in the hills of the Napa Valley!
The most exciting two days of the month were the two bottling days in mid-February. The wines get moved from barrels to the tanks in preparation for the big event and are allowed to settle and stabilize for a few days while we stage all of the glass, corks, and capsules. The mobile bottling truck from Ryan Mobile Bottling arrives the day prior to bottling to set up, and then it’s a race to the finish.
The winter/spring bottling is always exciting and much anticipated. We see the return of wines that have been sold out for a while and we bottle our white wines. Seeing favorites like Sauvignon Blanc, Blend 23, Rosé, and Chardonnay makes it feel like spring is just around the corner. We even bottled a couple of new white wines this year. 😉
Stay tuned this spring for announcements about all of our new releases from this round of bottling. As always, make sure to pick up your favorites and stock up for the summer!
In The Kitchen
With a new bottling comes new inspiration for Chef Derick and his team. Wanting to highlight some of our member favorites; this menu features new vintages of Blend 23 and Manzana Pinot Noir. They are paired with two brand-new creations from Chef. The sun is starting to shine again here in Oakville and we look forward to hosting you soon!
New Releases This Month
2022 Blend 23
We’ve made Blend 23 over the last 17 years. Each year, the goal has been to create an intriguing white blend that pairs with a glass as well as food. Though the percentages vary from vintage to vintage, Blend 23 always offers the refreshing crispness of Sauvignon Blanc, the layered richness of Chardonnay, and the inviting viscosity of Viognier.
A generous bouquet of melon and passion fruit with subtle hints of white peach. The palate is expressive with notes of green apples, honeysuckle, lemon curd, and a savory minerality.
