At The Winery

It’s hard to believe we’re wrapping up the last month of 2022! Winter officially arrived and brought some much-needed rain in recent weeks. The vineyards are in their dormant stage, and we’ll soon start to prune the canes from last year’s growth and welcome the cover crops that add key nutrients to the soil.

The harvest season is long over, but the work in the winery never ends. The winemaking team held blending sessions to prepare for the bottling that will take place in the spring. We can’t wait to announce these wines later in the year!

Lastly, we are very proud to announce that B Cellars is officially a Napa Green Certified Winery! We have gone to great lengths to be responsible stewards of the land we currently occupy in Oakville. This year we added two new barn owl boxes to encourage these beautiful birds to nest on our property and help with natural pest management. We continued planting a tree for every order and are closing in on 25,000 trees planted around the globe. It is our honor to carry the Napa Green certification, and we’re excited to continue our sustainability efforts in 2023.

In The Kitchen

Menu, November 2022

Cool weather is settling into the valley, and it is starting to feel like winter here at B Cellars. The grapes have all been picked, and the vines are starting to go dormant until the spring. Chef has fully embraced the weather and is showcasing a menu that focuses on hearty dishes paired with red wine. Brand new dishes dawn the menu while the ever-favorite flatbread is back, this time topped with earthy mushrooms and sweet caramelized cippolini onions. These dishes will put you in the mood for a glass of red wine next to a warm fire

New Releases This Month

Giannone Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

2020 Giannone Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

This postage-stamp-sized plot is located just off the Silverado Trail on the northern border of the Oakville Viticultural Area. We were lucky enough to have picked enough fruit to bottle this alone as a single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, and it stands proud on its own for the second year in a row.

The nose is redolent with black fruit, cassis, dried currants, and mulberry pie. The palate exhibits notes of blackberry, cacao, and black cherry cola. Supported by savory flavors of black olive tapenade, mushrooms, espresso, and luscious, soft, palate-filling tannins that lead to a long lingering finish.

Last Chance Wines

The wines featured in our “Last Chance” category have less than 60 cases remaining. This month we’re dangerously close to selling out of our last remaining Chardonnay and Pinot Noir as well as two fan-favorite Cabernet Sauvignons.
