At The Winery

Summer is here and the 2023 vintage is taking shape – literally! Fruit set has happened in the vineyards, giving us our first real look at the grapes we’ll be harvesting in only a few short months.

After the vineyards flower and self-polinate, tiny peppercorn-sized berries begin to form in clusters. This is the beginning of the growth phase and is where we get our first look at the true potential of the vintage. The growth phase lasts 4-6 weeks as the grapes race to develop skins, pulp and seed structure prior to the ripening phase that begins with “version”. But that’s a topic for another post. For now, we are pleased with the progress of the grapes and it seems like we’re heading for a robust vintage with healthy, full clusters.

The culinary garden is taking shape as the warm weather is encouraging rapid growth in our crops. The culinary team tends the garden daily harvesting as much as possible to add to the B Bites you’ll enjoy when you visit the winery. The chickens are living their best life, feasting on fresh garden leftovers every day!

The production team is ramping up for a significant bottling of red wine and we’re excited to bring back some classic favorites that we’ve been sold out of. We are also bottling some brand new wines from spectacular vineyards and we can’t wait to share these wines with you over the coming months.

It’s shaping up to be a great summer in Napa Valley and we’d love to see you in Oakville! Give our concierge team a call to book your reservations and don’t forget to follow us on Instagram and Facebook to keep up with everything happening at B Cellars.

In The Kitchen

As the warm summer afternoons embrace Oakville, Chef has crafted a delightful and playful menu for July. This menu showcases all-new recipes that perfectly complement some beloved B Cellars wines. Notably, for the first time, he is pairing the 2021 Monte Rosso Zinfandel. This Zinfandel is made using some of the original vines that were planted over a century ago on the property.

New Releases This Month

Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon

2020 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon

We produce wines from specific American Viticultural Areas (AVA) to celebrate the unique terroir of the Napa Valley. As our home since 2014, Oakville holds a special place in our hearts. This two-mile-wide swath of land contains the greatest concentration of preeminent producers of Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley. While each vineyard possesses its own unique terroir, they also each showcase a set of flavors, textures, and aromas that are unmistakeably Oakville. The 2020 vintage comes from three different vineyards in Napa.

The nose shows lavish aromatics of black plum and red raspberry, with undertones of molasses and espresso roast. Flavors of cherry tart, pomegranate, and warm barrel spice highlight great purity of fruit, and velvety-textured tannins, showcasing depth and power that is synonymous with Oakville.

Last Chance Wines

The wines featured in our “Last Chance” category have less than 60 cases remaining. Supply is dwindling on some of our most prestigious Cabernet Sauvignons, as well as some newer releases perfect for summertime.
